Mark Warren "Guston Dead" 48" X 58" oil on linen
Philip Guston died in 1980 while enjoying dinner at a neighbor's house. He was eating some dessert when his head just slumped down upon his chest. Guston had a famously bad diet favoring greasy foods like pastrami and was a life long heavy smoker. He suffered several heart attacks before his death at the age of 66. It is hard to imagine him living differently.
Some Guston paintings featuring food, alcohol and smoking.
Mark - Your painting "Guston Dead" is amazing. Jim
